7 Mistakes People Make to Clear Up Their Acne

7 Common Skin Care Mistakes People Make
We all want beautiful, glowing, acne and wrinkle free skin. Some of you may not realize that you are making one or more of the most common made mistakes when caring for your complexion. When searching the internet for skin care advise too often I came across these common mistakes in posts and wanted to share them with you. Don't fall victim to one of these common treatment mistakes:
1.) Don't think more is better. Generously, over-applying products can be harmful to the skin. Generally only a dime sized, thin layer applied is a sufficient amount needed for the entire face. Using too much can cause drying, redness, peeling and irritation. Always use as directed, NOT more.
2.) Washing more is better. Excessive washing will strip your skin of the necessary oils and irritate it as well causing it to produce extra oil to make up for all that got scrubbed away. It becomes a vicious cycle, never giving your acne a chance to clear up.
3.) Steam cleaning....No, leave that to the professionals. Don't steam the skin or rinse with hot water as this can cause irritation and capillaries to your skin's surface. It is always best to wash with luke-warm water.
4.) Daily Scrubs. Don't use a daily that contains parts, pieces or particles such as nuts. Yes, I found these ingredients recommended in some websites to exfoliate and remove dead skin cells, dirt and oil. These can tear your skin and cause further irritation. Look for scrubs that contain smooth, round, bead like particles which can help smooth away fine lines.
5.) Stay away from the bar! Many bar soaps have been known to have harsh cleansing agents like sodium cocoate, which can be absorbed into the skin. Alkaline pH levels can be high in bar soaps which can actually encourage bacterial growth. Stick with cleansers that are packaged in a bottle or jar which will also keep longer.
6.) Toothpaste? Toothpaste is meant to clean your teeth not your face. Toothpaste can be too drying, cause a burning sensation, redness, bumps and scarring can also occur. Also be aware of any baking soda or peroxide allergies.
7.) But it's Natural!! Natural, organic and green are everywhere on the internet and can give people a false sense of security that they are buying something that won't hurt them. Don't assume naturally occurring ingredients are better for your skin. There are plenty of naturally occurring ingredients that can irritate your skin.
